| one of my many experiences on the family boat (24' Formula..named Secret Formula) was coming back in to bow and stern from the pier. The skys were getting very dark, swells getting larger, there was so much static electricity in the air, our hair was standing on edge!! My dare devil of a dad flying over the swells like they were nothing!! A little Baja was trying to follow us...half the time we could'nt even see him because the water between us was so high!!...needless to say the Baja ended up cracking the whole steering column because the water was soo rough!! |

I went from Wilson along the shoreline of Lake Ontario toward the St. Lawrence. There was a head wind and the wind died down some after Rochester so we decided to head across the lake toward our final destination of Alexander Bay.
The winds picked up when we were in the middle of the lake at about 11:00 PM. The waves got real bad so we put on our life jackets and were prepared for the worse. I have been in bad weather in boats before but this was the worst. It normally takes us about 6 hours for the trip which is about 180 miles and this took us about 13 hours. I have a 30 ft. offshore style boat and with over 10 ft waves, I was glad that the wind was behind us and that we had GPS & Night Vision.
The trip back was much nicer! _________________ It's not that I'm so smart, it's just that I stay with problems longer -- Albert Einstein |

A cure for rough water boating would be a 29' World Class Warlock! _________________ "Second place, is the first one to finish last!"

How would the 29' World Class Warlock be with 10 -15 foot waves in Lake Ontario? I assume you would get tossed around just like any other off-shore style boat that size. Is there something I'm missing? _________________ It's not that I'm so smart, it's just that I stay with problems longer -- Albert Einstein |

Yup, a major tossing! Just kidding, tough in any boat in those conditions! _________________ "Second place, is the first one to finish last!"
